Bollywood flops or bombs of 2022

When it comes to releasing dates for Hindi film releases this year, one would assume that no matter how big the budget is or if there is enough star power in front of the camera, an underdog release like Dhaakad will find some sort of a silver lining as far as the box office goes. This was not the case with four movies released in the first quarter of this year.

Flop movies in Bollywood are several, and these are categorized by the use of technological tools. These are prominent for the business improvement by the knowledge of the technological tools in the commercial and financial needs. Professional conditions are important in this matter, and these may decrease the chances of flopping scenarios in the movies.

Movies have flopped from time to time no matter what type of entertainment industry is. Hollywood flops or bombs of 2022 can tell you about the movies that were the biggest flop of 2022.

Presenting you the list of Bollywood Bombs that you might be interested to know...

'Karan Johar's Hit Show Gully Boy 2'

Gully Boy 1 and 2 were massive hits among young male audiences who can watch their favorite television soap opera but now Gully Boy 2 is releasing in theatres and will have the same kind of impact. The movie will consist of 5 parts directed by Anupama Chopra, Manoj Kumar Gupta, Sandeep Reddy, Abhishek Bachchan, Amit Sial, and Vivek Oberoi. The makers believe that this romantic comedy will bring a lot of eyeballs on themselves as a result of being a part of a superhit show.

Attack: Part 1 (2022)

Attack: Part 1 is yet another good example of what you can expect from a Hindi thriller film. In my opinion, such movies are typically a bit under-produced but with so much hype around them, any deviation may do more justice than anything else in terms of viewership. Unfortunately, Attack: Part 1 failed to deliver what audiences wanted and therefore it managed to top the charts but the critical reception was mixed.

The audience score for the critics was even worse than what was given by IMDb and Fandango. None of the reviews were positive and only 3.5% of those who watched the trailer said that they liked it and that wasn’t saying much at all.

'Kartik Aaryan's Action Comedy Ek Villain Returns'

This action comedy produced by Dharma Productions has received very positive feedback from critics. It is enlisted as a Bollywood hit movie. Starring Deepika Padukone in the lead role, Kartik Aaryan plays the role of the villain in the movie. He is seen fighting against bad people in revenge dramas that keep getting canceled every day. His character arc goes through twists and turns, he learns his lessons and finds himself in the right situation which makes him end up killing his opponent.

Dhaakaan (2021)

Dhaakaan was a hit for Amazon Prime Video right away. It’s a story of two friends with differing views on many things. They meet each other at college, where they try to take care of their parents. After having grown up together, they decide they want to pursue music professionally.

However, both of them seem to lack proper direction or motivation for their careers. Later, they fall in love but unfortunately, they don’t think of a way to make things work out and they end up going back home. Not only that but now they’re stuck at home alone and their friendship has completely broken up.

'Kardashians 3-starter

Kareena Kapoor gave everything to this last release for the female audience with great performances and charm. The consideration of business perceptions in flop movies in Bollywood is also a considerable matter. The script is written by Siddharth Anand and Abhad Mehta. Based on Sudha Kongara's book "Kareen", this adaptation is a sequel to "Aye Phir Se Zameen" with Sameera Jayyal.

While creating this film for the females, it was also decided that there should be no romance scenes, and they should not go through emotional turmoil. So the female lead characters don't experience any sort of emotion while facing obstacles.

Jayeshbhai Jordaar (2022)

Jayeshbhai Jordaar is another film that couldn’t live up to expectations. This isn’t your regular western. Instead, this is a romantic comedy set in New Delhi-based Rajasthan during the partition period. This perception is bringing success to Bollywood hit movies.  Two men who go through hard times are forced to leave their hometown to get married. As such, their relationship gets complicated. Their families are angry at their decisions and they both have a lot to deal with afterward.

This leads to them falling in love, despite their age difference. Another aspect that makes this film work well is its unique approach. Unlike your typical rom-com, the storyline here isn’t centered on romance.

Runway 35 (2022)

Runway 35, an American fashion show that took place at Paris Haute Couture Week, received rave reviews and also got nominated for best costume accessories. Although it does fit the bill of a mainstream Indian film, there aren’t very many memorable moments in the movie. Many jokes are rather stale and tired as time progresses.

Despite having a stunning visual style, costumes don’t match the storyline and it seems like someone decided early on to start reworking some details rather than focusing on developing characters and creating a genuine connection between the protagonists. Similarly, the narration also lacks authenticity.

In conclusion, the biggest takeaway from reviewing Action: Part 1, Dhaakad, Jayeshbhai Jordaar, and Runway 35 is that one should always keep an eye out for critically acclaimed and popular Indian movies as big hits don’t guarantee success. Whether they’re great or bad depends upon the audience. These four movies underperformed by leaps and bounds and deserved far greater acclaim.
